The Arts Society Grantham
Arts Volunteering AIMS: To inspire young and old with a lasting enthusiasm for the Arts To encourage an awareness for Arts Heritage and Conservation Young Persons Art Competition 2022 Subject Title: “My Grantham” Unfortunately this long-planned art competition has had to be put on indefinite hold, due to the lack of an Arts Volunteering Representative for Grantham's Society. In the meantime, we encourage interested members to approach the Committee with ideas particularly for encouraging art appreciation and practice amongst children and young people in Grantham. The Arts Society Grantham will look at helping to fund the most promising project ideas. Past school-based projects promoted by our Society here in Grantham have included: • visit to The Hub in Sleaford to learn about design and construction of mosaics • wire sculpture • visit to Lincoln by a school party to view the Magna Carta and participate in workshops to learn skills involved in producing this historic document – paper-making, making of seals, and calligraphy. • art competitions involving several Grantham schools • presentations to schools on a local archaeological site and its treasures While the Committee seeks to fill the role of Arts Volunteering Representative, please contact any Committee member to discuss your project ideas
